What Happened
On March 23, 2026, the system experienced a brief period of unavailability lasting 5 minutes. The interruption was triggered by a manual schema adjustment in the production database that took longer than anticipated to commit, leading to transient connection timeouts for end-users.
The engineering team was performing a minor table adjustment (column modification) to optimize query performance. Although the change was expected to be non-blocking, a high volume of concurrent transactions at the time of execution caused a data lock. This prevented new connections from being established until the schema change was finalized.
